Privacy Policy
This policy explains how Servus Strangers collects, uses and protects your personal data. It is written in line with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG). Deutsche Fassung auf Anfrage.

2. What we collect
- When you sign up to the newsletter: your email address and the date of sign‑up.
- When you buy a ticket: name, email, payment confirmation. Payments are processed by Eventbrite; we never see card details.
- When you visit the website: standard server logs (IP, browser, referrer, page viewed) for security and uptime, kept up to 14 days. Aggregated analytics may be added later — if so, this page is updated.
- When you attend an event: we may take photos. By attending, you accept incidental appearance in such images for marketing of Servus Strangers. You can ask us at the door not to be photographed, and you can ask for removal anytime by email.
3. Why we use it (legal basis)
- Operating the website & event sales — Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR (contract).
- Sending the newsletter — Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (your consent). You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.
- Security logs & abuse prevention — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in keeping the site available).
- Event photography for marketing — Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in promoting the events), balanced with your right to object.
4. Who we share data with (processors)
- Vercel Inc. — website hosting (USA / EU edge). DPA signed; data transfer covered by EU Standard Contractual Clauses.
- IONOS SE — domain registrar (Germany).
- Eventbrite, Inc. — ticketing (separate privacy policy applies on their checkout).
- Google Fonts — fonts are loaded from Google's CDN. To avoid third‑party calls, fonts will be self‑hosted in a future update.
We do not sell your data, ever.
5. How long we keep it
- Newsletter email: until you unsubscribe.
- Ticket records: 7 years (Austrian bookkeeping obligation, §132 BAO).
- Server logs: up to 14 days.
- Event photos: as long as we use them for marketing, or until you request removal.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR you can, at any time:
- Request access to the data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Withdraw consent (e.g. unsubscribe from the newsletter).
- Receive your data in a portable format.
- Lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority (dsb.gv.at).

7. Cookies
This site does not set tracking or advertising cookies. Only strictly necessary cookies may be used, e.g. for the embedded Eventbrite checkout when you click through. If we introduce analytics or marketing cookies later, a consent banner will appear before they load.
8. International transfers
Some processors (e.g. Vercel, Eventbrite) are based in the United States. Transfers happen under the EU‑U.S. Data Privacy Framework and/or EU Standard Contractual Clauses, plus the supplementary measures of the respective providers.
9. Children
Servus Strangers events are for adults (18+). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We update this page when our processing changes. The date below is always the latest revision.
